Systematic Care of Neuropathic Ulcers: A Case Report
Abstract
For people with diabetes mellitus (DM), foot ulcers and the complexity of their treatment are a serious health problem that requires technological advancement and multidisciplinary interventions. The purpose of this clinical case report was to describe the results of the treatment of diabetic neuropathic ulcers on the stump resulting from the partial amputation of the right foot. The ulcers healed with the use of advanced dressings and changes in the patient’s habits through multidisciplinary educational interventions. The success of treatment was achieved due to the knowledge of the professionals involved and availability of appropriate dressings for this type of wound.
